CargoWise Global Rules and Setting

As WiseTech Global’s authorized CargoWise partner, Calsoft provides a wide range of professional services from implementation, training, and support to serve your business needs in global logistics.

Over the years, we have continuously improved our CargoWise global rollout methodology to ensure the success of your global-scale implementation project.

With emphasis on truly understanding your business and maximizing your return on investment, we provide structured support that aims to resolve existing bottlenecks and realize goals that improve your operations.

Through collaboration with you, we fully define requirements in the basic planning and detailed design phases, followed by configuration, development, and repeated testing.

Items to Check for Global Rollout

  • Confirm global rules (common group rules for master data across countries, operations, departments, etc.) and settings.
  • Create a list of all countries in the scope.

(For a global rollout, the global rules and their settings will need to be determined from the first location.)

  • Create a classification table of modules, functions, configuration items, and required reports by region.
  • Select 1-2 team leaders for each region (region, branch, department, etc.)
  • Review usernames, number of users, branches, business activities, CargoWise organization and member hierarchy.
  • Examine complexity and member structure, plan support staffing and implementation schedule.
  • Share rollout procedures and project status and issues with each region as needed to encourage active participation.
  • Develop reports, interfaces, etc., and handle any unique requirements, including accounting, on a case-by-case basis.

Global Rules & Settings

Among the checklist of activities mentioned above, the first step is critically important.

As a system with a single database, CargoWise allows you to consolidate and manage all global entities under one unified system.

However, to enjoy the full benefits of this global scalability, we urge you to organize a solid set of global rules prior to the implementation of the system.

While local settings can be changed after the implementation, global rules and settings for master data (such as organization, charge codes, and account items) remain permanent and cannot be undone after the implementation.

Because of this, it is very common to see customers that have already implemented CargoWise in one of their overseas locations, then end up realizing that it was not compatible on a global scale.  This results in a re-implementation when global rollout becomes necessary as a group.

Major Project Steps

After careful preparation, the actual implementation project will start, and we’ll assist you with the following professional services:

  • Project Strategy and Business Process Review
  • Project Management
  • Requirements Analysis and Definition
  • System Design and Analysis and Solution Proposal
  • Documentation
  • System configuration and configuration updates
  • Master data definition support and data migration
  • Interface development and data integration
  • Report development and documentation
  • Template creation assistance
  • User acceptance testing support
  • Hands-on Train-the-Trainers Training
  • Ongoing support after implementation and implementation (support is contracted separately after implementation)

Global Rollout

After completion of the first project, a global template of basic items will be created, re-evaluated, then “rolled out” to your other departments and overseas subsidiaries.

Careful planning, template optimization (simple and effective), training, and retention of deployment personnel will be the key success factors of your global CargoWise deployment.

This rollout will be done with the help of trainers and your regional and sectoral super-users who gained experience in their respective fields during the pilot implementation. Training for end-users will be carried out in sequence, taking into account the regional and business needs of each department and company, as well as priorities, and developing an “individualized rollout” plan, including implementation departments, regions, implementation schedule, and implementation items, as needed.
